Prescription Team

This is a new addition to the primary healthcare team and the future plan for the NHS is to have one clinical pharmacist per surgery. Their role is medication management, to support GPs, and patients with medication reviews, queries and liaising with local pharmacies. Some CPs can prescribe so can see patients with less complex problems and advise about over the counter remedies available at local pharmacies. They will help patients in residential and nursing homes who often have multiple and complex medication requirements.
